About Gina

Hello!

I've been thinking out loud for most of my life. It started with “dear diary…” scribbled in a pink and purple notebook with a flimsy brass lock for security. Once the internet became a thing my diary was made up of the bits and pixels of LiveJournal and many of its successors. Blogs about sewing, travel, and far more personal topics than I will ever admit have been littered across the internet for years. I was processing my thoughts out loud for anyone willing to stumble across them. Turns out some people were.

Thankfully the thinking never stopped, it just got more focused.

I'm a Los Angeles-based climate advocate and creative who has spent the better part of a decade asking one question in every area of my life: what is actually worth it?

That question led me to build a slow fashion clothing line by hand, and eventually into Madewell. It led me to close that business intentionally when my life grew in another direction. It led me to a career in climate policy, and now to YouTube where I talk honestly about style, consumption, and a life well examined.

I am not here to tell you to buy less. And I’m certainly not here to tell you to buy more. I'm here to help you buy better, and to find more joy in the things you already own.

You belong here if you love beautiful things and are tired of feeling guilty about it. If you care about the world and also care about living your one life to the fullest. If you want a wardrobe and lifestyle that actually reflects who you are.

Gina has been featured in and collaborated with Eileen Fisher, Sézane, Everlane, Jenni Kayne, and others. She has been writing her newsletter about style and slow living, since 2018.
