Things I Actually Want for Mother’s Day This Year

Don’t worry, this isn’t one of those “all I want for (insert holiday) is time with you.” Time with the people you love is sweet and all, but mothers (and mother figures) work hard, give a lot, and often put our needs behind those of others often. This is not one of those times thankyouverymuch.

My take on a Mother’s Day gift guide? Share the things I have bought recently and love, and what’s currently on my wishlist (and then send it to my husband).

The 14K Gold Diamond Bezel Necklace in Yellow Gold

I bought a solitaire diamond necklace right after my son was born, literally, I may have ordered it while still in the hospital. One small stone to mark my one and only baby who has one and only one mama. If your looking for somthing sentimental and timeless, this is a wonderful piece to have. I love to wear mine layered with other necklaces to make it feel more casual for everyday wear.

The Joan Necklace

Now on the other side of the spectrum is this super fun and chunky beaded necklace. It’s speaking my language in my favorite shade of green that surprisingly goes well with most colors on the color wheel. This is a statement piece is the kind of necklace that does the heavy lifting for your outfits.

Cashmere Short Sleeve Cardigan in Vintage Pink

I want this for Mother’s Day photos, full stop. I am not even a pink person, but this dusty pink is soft and pretty without being too sweet. And the short sleeves make it feel modern and suitable for spring.

The Madewell Miley Bag in Raffia

I already own a Mylie bag in suede and I love it. The raffia version is on my list for summer because it’s roomy enough to carry my whole life (and my sons) with me. There is something so chic about the hobo silhouette of this bag, and chic enough that you don’t feel like you’re carrying a tote. A mom bag without looking like a mom bag.

The Shark Silkipro Hair Straightener and Blow Dryer

I orginally asked for this for Mother’s Day but I couldn’t wait. I found a $50 coupon on TikTok Shop and have zero regrets. The Shark is one of those multi-use styling tools that is actually worht it weight in gold. It straightens wet or dry hair, yest it is magic. And it has cut my styling routine time in half!

The TheraFace Mask GLO by Therabody

This is a splurge, especially because I have no idea if red light therapy is legit. But as I face 40 I am willing to try it out. This Therabody version is on my list mainly because it looks nice and the reviews are solid, but I bet there are many others that would serve as a great gift.

Organic Turkish Waffle Robe in Silver

I LOVE THIS ROBE. It’s made from 100% organic Turkish cotton and is so soft and comfy. I put it on every morning as I get ready and I find myself procrastinating getting dressed because I want to keep it on. It truly feels like something you’d find at a good spa. This is my go-to recommendation every single time someone asks what to give and it only about $50.

A Custom Papier Cookbook, Planner, or Journal

Papier is one of my go-to brands for stationary and gifts. Their recipe books, planners, and journals are customizable in a way that makes the reciever feel special and their designs are varied and beautiful.

The Kodak Half-Frame Film Camera

I recently gifted this to my father-in-law and now I want one for myself. Film is having a moment for good reason, it slows you down and makes you more deliberate about what you capture. The half-frame format is especially clever because you get twice as many shots per roll. This is for the woman who wants to try something new with her hands or appreciates an analog hobby.

The Kobo Clara Black and White E-Reader

I have an old Kindle that I love, but Amazon is making it progressively harder to download library books on older devices. I’ve made peace with eventually switching and when I do I will invest in a Kobo. The Kobo Clara in particular seems clean, simple, and plays well with Libby library downloads. There’s a color version too, but honestly I think I’ll stick with the black-and-white.

The Le Creuset Everyday Pan

I am slowly collecting Le Creuset pieces and the Everyday Pan is next on my list. My current Our Place pan is looking worse for wear and now I want to expand my two-piece Olive collection. This is the kind of kitchen piece that makes cooking feel special and luxurious.

So there you have it, all the things moms like me may love this Mother’s Day.
