My Best Sézane Haul Yet: A $1,200 Spring Try-On That Works as a Capsule

I spent over $1,200 at Sézane this spring and somehow almost everything is beautiful. Seven pieces, all natural fibers, all working together like a small capsule wardrobe: a blouse, mules, shorts, a jacket, a cardigan, leopard jeans, and a silk dress. I genuinely did not expect this many hits in one order.

That said, a few things did not fit my body quite right, and I am sharing everything honestly. Sizing notes, first impressions, and I need your help deciding what is worth keeping. Watch the full try-on above and let me know in the comments.

I am 5'9" for reference. All pieces are linked below.

The Roma Blouse

I kept this from my March Sézane haul and I have worn it exactly once. The comments on YouTube were divided, but I love the eyelet detail, the raglan sleeve, and the fact that it is not as sheer as you would expect. A nude bra underneath and you are covered without needing a tank, which is genuinely rare.

I think I am going to try wearing it relaxed and untucked, which gives it more of a California coastal feel than the polished tucked-in 70s style. The cotton is going to soften with wear and I think that is where this blouse really lives. Still on the fence but committed to wearing it through spring before I decide.

The Doriane Mules

I wanted these to work so badly because they are beautiful. Chocolate brown, chunky heel, incredibly simple and classic. I got them in a size 40 but my feet were sliding forward and there was too much gaping around the sides. My feet were just too narrow for the width of these shoes.

If you have wider feet I genuinely think these would be phenomenal. They are gorgeous and very comfortable heel-wise. Unfortunately not for me though.

The Dugan Shorts

These shorts surprised me the most. The golden olive colored linen is stunning, and these are a really good length on me. But best of all, the construction is noticeably better than a lot of Sézane pieces I have tried. The waistband is properly interfaced, the buttons are well sewn, the fabric feels substantial without being stiff. I love finding hidden gems like this at Sézane, this is worth the price.

I can see these with an oversized white button-up, with the Will jacket for a matching set moment, with a simple black top or a white tee. Incredibly versatile for summer. I am also factoring in that shorts are genuinely hard for me to find and these fit well, which alone makes them worth keeping.

The Will Jacket in Linen

Before my order arrived this was my most confident keep. But now I am on the fence. Like the shorts I love the color and fabric, its substantial and beautiful. I sized up to a large specifically so it would feel relaxed and oversized rather than fitted the way my old cotton version did. The length on the arms is great. The linen means I can roll the sleeves which I think looks very chic.

My hesitation is practical: in Los Angeles we tend to skip from cold to summer without much of a linen jacket window. I also already have a denim chore jacket and a vintage French workers jacket. Would I actually reach for this one? That is the question I cannot answer until I try it with things already in my wardrobe.

The Jude Cardigan

I have been thinking about this cardigan since it first dropped in chocolate brown and sold out immediately. When it came back in this ivory I was eager to try it out. Unfortunately, the medium is too short in the body and the sleeves hit at bracelet length rather than wrist, which has been my consistent issue with many Sézane cardigans. The color also may wash me out slightly…

Where this cropped length shines is over dresses. Layered over the Kethy dress it hit at exactly the right spot just below the natural waist. So now I am considering sizing up to a large and see if that solves the fit issue.

Wide Leg Leopard Jeans

These jeans are hands down my favorite piece in the entire haul! I already have a pair of pale cropped leopard trousers from Rouje that I love, but I wanted a full length wide leg version. These are a in a slightly darker, warmer leopard that would work with chocolate browns and earth tones in my wardrobe year round. The cotton is sturdy and not at all stiff (unlike the Rouje ones), the fit through the hip and waistband is comfortable, and the length is perfect.

The Kethy Dress

I have been watching this dress since it first dropped. Te cut of this dress is beautifull through the waist and hips, my issues is with the fit in the bust. I am seriously considering getting this in a size above, but I might wait to see if it is released in any other silk textiles first

One thing I realized as I was trying everything on together: this order accidentally became small capsule wardrobe. The shorts, the trousers, the dress, the blouse, and the two outer layers all work together. I put together multiple outfits within the try-on without planning it. That almost never happens with a single order and it is a good sign that the pieces share a coherent color palette and aesthetic.

Even if I return a few things the ones I keep will have genuine longevity in my wardrobe, which is the point.
